It is important because even if you don’t opt to thrifting it, you are still promoting sustainable fashion by focusing on a few high quality pieces and reducing the need for constant purchases and disposal of clothing. This also saves you $$$.

So what are the steps to thrifting your entire capsule wardrobe?

1. Defining your style can be hard at first but it is one of the most important parts of this process. Your guide to this can be your lifestyle, color preferances and dressing occasions.

2. Plan your wardrobe by determining the essential silhouettes. This can include Tops (blouses, knits, button-downs), Bottoms (trousers and skirts), and Outerwear (jackets, coats, blazers). Always aim for classic lines, quality materials and minimal to no damages and or stains.

4. Start to explore thrift stores. This is the fun part but it does require some time and patience. I visit one of my local thrift often stores and don’t always leave with something. But some days, the Thrift Gods are with me and I have a really good thrift day.
